Job Summary
Pediatric Hematology Oncology Nurse at a Children's Hospital. This position involves providing specialized care for pediatric patients with cancer and blood disorders. It requires administering chemotherapy and other oncology treatments, assessing patient conditions, and supporting patients and their families in a fast-paced inpatient Hematology Oncology unit.

Job Details

Position: RN - Pediatric Hematology Oncology
Location: Norfolk, VA
Schedule: Rotating shifts, 12 hours per shift, 36 hours per week
Required Qualifications: RN licensure, 18 months of experience in an acute and chronic care setting or solid oncology experience, APHON Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Provider Status, PALS certification, BLS certification, flu vaccination (no exemptions), minimum 1 year of relevant experience.
Additional information: Inpatient HemOnc includes a 16-bed unit. Most patients are managed at a 3:1 patient-to-nurse ratio, with fluctuations to 4:1 when med/surg patients are on the unit. The team includes a charge RN and a team lead RN without patient assignments for support. Nursing Care Partners assist with nursing assistant tasks.
