Job Summary
The organization is seeking a Certified Operating Room Technician in the ORT CERT specialty at the facility. The role involves assisting in a variety of surgical cases, primarily orthopedic, neuro spine, total joints, and open fractures, with opportunities to scrub and support the anesthesia team. This position is ideal for qualified candidates with relevant experience and certifications.

Job Details

• Position Description:
  Unit notes specify that the OR Suite has 14 case rooms daily, averaging 28 cases with additional procedures, including SDS cases. Certified surgical technologists or surgical assistants with relevant certifications are required. Experience in assisting orthopedic procedures is preferred.

• Required Qualifications:
  Certification as a Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) through NBSTSA, or a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) via NBSTSA, along with BLS certification. Minimum of 2 years of experience in the specialty. Experience with assisting in orthopedic surgeries is preferred.

• Schedule:
  12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week, primarily days, with on-call responsibilities including weeknights, weekends, and holidays. Call response time is 20 minutes; on-call staff must stay if exceeding 20 minutes from the facility.

• Additional Information:
  The role involves assisting in all surgical cases except open-heart surgery, focusing on neuro spine, total joints, and fracture repairs. The team is responsible for turnover and room setup, with no provisions for aides or housekeeping. Surgeons are on call from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. during weekdays and from 7 p.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Monday on weekends. The RT team and pharmacy are available 24/7, and the facility uses EPIC for charting. Scrubbing as a RN is a plus but not required.
