Job Summary
Labor and Delivery Nurse in the L&D department at the healthcare facility. This role involves providing leadership in the coordination and delivery of compassionate patient care, utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The position requires effective communication of pertinent patient and family information to the healthcare team and participation in developing solutions for variances from patient goals.

Job Details

• Shift Time: Nights, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing, current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing, and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Schedule: 7pm-730am; every other weekend.
• Certifications: BLS, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
• Specializations: Labor and Delivery.
• Experience Requirement: 0 years.
• Skills: Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans within the unit/department, ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services, effective communication with patients, families, and hospital personnel.
• Additional Information: Candidate must be cross-trained in post-partum and delivery, with patient-to-nurse ratios of 1:2 or 1:1 for labor, and 1:3 or 4 couplets for postpartum.
