Job Summary
Emergency Room (ER) Nursing position available in an acute care facility. The role involves providing urgent and emergency care to a diverse patient population, including adults and pediatrics, with an average of 150 patients daily. The position requires a proactive and skilled nurse to handle high-acuity cases and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

Job Details

• Position Description: This is an ER nursing role supporting a busy emergency department with 24 beds, including fast track services staffed by mid-level providers. The unit operates on a block scheduling system, and the facility schedules staff as needed.
• Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications. Moderate conscious sedation compliance testing required prior to start. At least 2 years of ER nursing experience.
• Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Additional Information: The department manages patients with diverse, acute/emergent conditions, including a significant homeless population. There is a short-term holding for psychiatric patients, with higher-level care transport as needed. The unit has in-house hospitalists or intensivists, a 24/7 pharmacy, and ventilator support. The ER utilizes Cerner FirstNet charting and employs nurse champions.
