Job Summary
Operating Room (OR) Specialist in a Level I trauma center located in an acute care hospital. This role involves supporting a busy surgical department with responsibilities across various service lines, excluding cardiovascular (CV). The position requires experience in general, trauma, orthopedics, neurology, urology, plastic surgery, and transplant procedures, with adherence to strict safety and clinical standards.

Job Details

• Certifications: BLS required; CNOR preferred.
• Education & Experience: Minimum 2.5 years of OR experience required, including Level I trauma experience; at least 1 year of specific surgical case experience as detailed below.
• Responsibilities include supporting all service lines except cardiovascular, ensuring compliance with hospital protocols, preparing operating rooms, assisting during surgeries, and maintaining equipment.
• Core Case Skills/Experience: Laparoscopic procedures, trauma and emergency response, neurology, orthopedics, urology, plastic surgery, and transplant related skills.
• Required Equipment/Instrumentation/Supplies Experience: Electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources, Hana tables.
• Schedule: 4x10-hour shifts from 6:45 AM to 5:15 PM, minimum 40 hours per week.
• Additional Details: Candidate must hold an active Illinois license or be in the application process. Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility. All requested time off requires prior approval. The role entails working with most service lines, flexible within scope, and includes on-call duties once per week.
• Submission must include SSN and DOB, with 2-3 interview availability windows, and confirmation of housing and compliance requirements.
