Job Summary
Critical Care Registered Nurse (ICU Medical) in Alexandria, Louisiana. This position involves providing specialized care in an intensive care unit within a designated hospital setting. The role requires a focus on COVID-19 patient management, ventilator support, and critical care procedures, contributing to a high standard of patient outcomes.
Job Details
- Required Qualifications: Valid ACLS and BLS certifications; no minimum years of experience required; ICU experience preferred.
- Schedule: Days shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, starting on 10/26/2026 and ending on 01/25/2027.
- Additional Information: The ICU unit is Pathways to Excellence Certified, working toward Magnet status, and is a Certified Stroke Center, Certified Chest Pain Center, and Level II Trauma Center. Responsibilities include ventilator management, critical care drips, assessment of cardiac, neuro, and respiratory systems, and PPE donning and doffing. Procedures performed include intubations, cardioversions, ventriculostomy drain management, IABP management, CRRT, and proning. Staff may float to other units as needed, with a focus on ICU and Medical-Surgical units. The unit employs advanced technology, such as Meditech electronic documentation and iMobile phones. Certification in TNCC is a plus and a professional dress code should be followed.
- Preferences: Positive attitude, flexibility, teamwork, self-motivation, good communication skills, and the ability to work in a diverse environment. Many staff are nationally certified, with self-scheduling options available.
