Job Summary
Operating Room (OR) Nurse in an acute care hospital setting. This role involves providing specialized perioperative nursing care during surgical procedures across various service lines, excluding cardiovascular. The position requires a high level of expertise in general surgery, trauma, neurology, orthopedics, plastics, transplant, and urology surgeries, with a focus on Level I trauma center protocols.

Job Details

• Certifications: BLS required; CNOR preferred.
• Education Requirements: Active Illinois nursing license in hand or in application process.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years' operating room experience required; trauma level I experience essential; general, neuro, ortho, plastic, transplant, and urology case skills necessary.
• Schedule: Shift is 3 x 12-hour days (0645-1915) with a weekend block every Friday through Monday, minimum 48 hours per week.
• Responsibilities include assisting with surgical procedures across all service lines except cardiovascular, managing sterile environments, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.
• Additional Requirements: Will work within scope for all service lines except cardiovascular; Cerner experience preferred; on-call duty of 1/week typically, with rare float within skill set; must have an active Illinois license.
• Submission must include SSN and DOB, 2-3 interview availability windows, and confirmation of RTO (requested time off). Candidate must work two of the three major holidays and be pre-closed at the time of submission.
• Candidate residence must be at least 50 miles from the facility.
