Job Summary
The Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory (Cath Lab) RN is based at the organizations facility and primarily provides specialized care in diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures. This role involves working in a Level I trauma center with a focus on adult cardiac cath procedures, including diagnostic and left heart catheterizations, pulmonary artery line monitoring, and procedural sedation. The position requires active Illinois licensure and involves a rotating schedule with on-call responsibilities.
Job Details
- Position: Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse
- Schedule: 3x12-hour days (0630-1900) with a minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Illinois license in hand, ACLS and BLS certifications, minimum 1-year experience in interventional cardiac cath procedures including diagnostic catheterizations, adult left heart catheterization, pulmonary artery line monitoring, right heart catheterization, procedural sedation administration/monitoring, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, Cerner charting experience
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a Level I trauma center; previous charge nurse experience; community hospital experience
- Additional Information: Must have recent interventional cardiac cath lab experience with proficiency in diagnostic and interventional procedures, including adult diagnostic catheterizations, procedural sedation, and dysrhythmia management. Will be required to float within scope if needed, and must be willing to work weekends and be on-call as required. Submission of SSN and DOB at time of application; review and confirmation of start date, RTO, and compliance requirements prior to assignment.
- Special Requirements: Interventional cardiac cath lab experience required, with specific skills including circulating procedures, diagnostic catheterizations, adult left heart catheterizations, pulmonary artery line/Swan Ganz monitoring, right heart catheterizations, sedation administration, and dysrhythmia management.
- Certifications: ACLS and BLS are required.
