Job Summary
The PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit) Nurse is responsible for providing safe and effective care to patients in outpatient services, pre-operative, post-operative, and procedural sedation settings. This role involves patient assessment, education, and discharge, ensuring the well-being of patients across all age groups in the perioperative environment.

Job Details

• Certifications, Education, and Experience: Current Wyoming licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse; BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certifications are required. TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire, or as class availability allows. Minimum of 2 years of experience in an acute care or surgical services area is preferred; at least 2 years of experience is highly desirable.
• Schedule: Days shift, 10 hours shifts, minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Responsibilities: Provide direct patient care, perform focused assessments, monitor hemodynamic status, and interpret results. Prepare patients for procedures, assist physicians, and maintain accurate documentation. Educate patients and families, administer medications and IV fluids, and perform treatments within training limits.
• Additional Requirements: Ability to work effectively in stressful situations, excellent communication skills, and knowledge of aseptic techniques and infection control principles. The role involves working with diverse patient populations across various age groups.
• Additional Information: Assist in maintaining a clean, stocked work environment, participate in onboarding and supervision of nursing students, and collaborate with other departments for smooth patient transfers.
