Job Summary
Medical Surgical with Telemetry (MS TELE) nurse position in a healthcare facility. The role involves providing high-quality patient care in a certified stroke center, with a focus on cardiac, respiratory, infectious disease, and post-operative patients. The position requires flexibility to float to sister units as needed.

Job Details

• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required
• Education Requirements: NY license in hand required; must have 1 year of relevant experience
• Location Requirements: Candidates within 75 miles of the facility are not accepted
• Years of Experience: 0 minimum, with 1 year preferred
• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, Days, 48 hours per week minimum
• Float: Float rotation may be required to sister units including West 2, West 3, and Observation unit
• Patient Ratios: Days 1:5; Nights 1:6
• Additional Responsibilities: Managing Ports, BiPAP/CPAP, Blood Products, Chest Tubes, CVA protocols, High Flow Nasal Cannula, Dysrhythmia interpretation, Isolation Precautions, IV insulin, Management of dysrhythmias, MS/Tele, Nasal Cannula, Non-invasive airway management, PCA, Peripheral Line Care, PICC line management, Post MI care, Seizure management, Starting IVs, Substance Withdrawal, Surgical drains, Tracheostomy care, Wound care, and Wound Vac.
• Patient Age Groups: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
• Daily Census: 23 patients with approximately 3 visits per day in 17 rooms with 30 beds
• Interdisciplinary Support: Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Interpretation Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Pharmacy, and Unit Secretary support
• Special Equipment: Includes monitoring and respiratory management tools
