Description
Job Summary
Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) - located in Alaska. This position involves providing specialized nursing care within the operating room environment at a magnet hospital with Level II Trauma designation. The RN will support a variety of surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety and optimal outcomes during surgery.
Job Details
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, CNOR (preferred)
- Education and Experience: AK Registered Nurse license in hand; minimum of 2 years of operating room experience required
- Location Requirements: Must have AK RN license in hand for auto offer; candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; travel experience not required
- Schedule: 10-hour shifts, 40 hours per week, starting 11/09/2026 and ending 05/10/2027
- Responsibilities include assisting with diverse surgical procedures such as abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, hysterectomy, and knee arthroscopy, as well as managing blood and blood products and operating specialized surgical equipment.
- Clinical familiarity with Epic charting system and surgical support equipment like the Stealth and Mazor Robot Spine is preferred.
- Must be willing to work 2 out of the 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year.
- Candidates will support trauma, orthopedic, neuro, gynecology, vascular, and other surgical cases within the facility, with potential float to like units based on operational needs.
- All submissions require 2 references covering at least one year within the last three years, including charge and lead RNs if applicable.
- Ability to complete modules in advance, with self-reported hours, is necessary.
