Job Summary
The organization is seeking a PCU (Progressive Care Unit) Nurse for a hospital setting located in Bangor, ME. The position involves providing specialized care for patients with complex medical conditions, including trauma, sepsis, stroke, and post-operative cardiac and general surgical patients, in a Level II Trauma Center.
Job Details
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
- Education Requirements: RN license with PCU level experience or comfort caring for trauma and stroke patients, including ventilator and tracheostomy care.
- Location Requirements: Valid RN license in the state of Maine or appropriate license reciprocity.
- Years of Experience: 0 years minimum, experience requirement: 0 years
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum 36 hours per week.
- Experience with trached and ventilated patients, stroke patient neuro checks, post-craniotomy care, chest tubes, wound Vacs, Bipap, vasoactive drips, cardiac rhythm interpretation, and IV starts is needed.
- Support on the unit includes charting system and equipment familiarity, with potential floating to ED, ICU, or CCU as needed.
- Candidate must complete general hospital orientation followed by one day on the unit, with the ability to approve time off up to 7 days, and holiday requests requiring manager approval.
- Professional scrub colors are acceptable, with free parking in designated areas.
- First-time traveler status, with experience in intermediate/PCU care, is preferred.
