Job Summary
Operating Room (OR) with a focus on open heart procedures in Asheville, North Carolina. This position involves providing perioperative care within a high-volume, award-winning hospital recognized for its clinical excellence. The role caters to experienced registered nurses (RN) specializing in cardiovascular surgery.

Job Details

  • Position Description:
    The role involves scrub and circulating responsibilities for cardiovascular operating room cases including coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), valve replacements, ventricular assist device (VAD) insertions, transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), lobectomy, pacemaker and implantable cardioverter defibrillator (AICD) insertions, septal myectomy, Ross procedures, endoscopic vein harvest (EVH), intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP) insertions, femoral cannulation, and circulatory arrest. The hospital's ORs are equipped with Stryker systems, and documentation is managed via Cerner. On-call shifts will be assigned and rotated among staff, and infrequent floating may be required.

  • Required Qualifications:
    Valid RN license, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, extensive expertise and experience in the RN Circulator role in cardiovascular surgeries. Experience in scrub/first assist is preferred but not essential. The candidate should possess a minimum of one year of relevant clinical experience.

  • Additional Information:
    The position requires adherence to hospital dress code and unit policies provided during orientation. This is not a training facility, and cases are conducted efficiently. The hospital holds esteemed recognitions, including a three-star rating from the Society of Thoracic Surgeons and the Magnet designation for nursing excellence. The assignment is scheduled to start on October 12, 2026, and conclude on January 11, 2027, with a schedule of days shifts totaling 40 hours per week.
