Job Summary
Medical Surgical Floor Nurse - MS Specialty - Location: unspecified. This role involves providing comprehensive nursing care within a Medical Surgical unit that manages orthopedics, joint replacements, and fractures. The position requires delivering patient-centered care with a focus on safety, efficiency, and clinical excellence during rotating night shifts.

Job Details

• Position Description:
  Responsibilities include care for orthopedic patients, particularly those undergoing joint replacements and managing fractures. The role requires experience with Total Joint Replacement procedures, adherence to unit-specific protocols, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

• Required Qualifications:
  Active BLS Certification; 2 years of clinical experience in a Medical Surgical setting, specifically with orthopedic patients; valid nursing license; willingness to wait for license submission; ability to work rotating night shifts (12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week minimum); location outside 50 miles from the facility.

• Preferred Qualifications:
  Prior experience in orthopedic units involving joint replacements; familiarity with Electronic Patient Charting systems such as EPIC; competence in managing telemetry equipment; ability to work in a fast-paced acute care environment.

• Schedule:
  Rotating shifts, 12 hours per shift, a minimum of 36 hours per week, including weekend and holiday rotations, from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.

• Additional Information:
  The position emphasizes strong orthopedic experience. RN's are not required to titrate drips or read strips. The unit operates with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-6 and includes a team of three Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) per shift, with ratios of 1:7-8. The unit may require floating to other orthopedic/telemetry areas as needed.
