Job Summary
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Nurse Location: unspecified. This position involves providing specialized neonatal care at a high-risk level facility. The role requires independent critical thinking, excellent communication skills, and extensive experience with ventilators and central lines in neonatal patients.

Job Details

  • Position Description:
    The NICU nurse is responsible for caring for neonates in a Level III NICU, including working with ventilators and central lines. The nurse will float to Mother-Baby or Labor & Delivery units as needed, following organizational guidelines and policies, including dress code and fingernail policy.
  • Required Qualifications:
    Valid license to submit, BLS certification, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and a minimum of three years of NICU experience.
  • Schedule:
    Rotating shifts from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM or 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week, including every third weekend and holiday, with additional shifts as needed.
  • Additional Information:
    The facility has 11 Labor, Delivery, and Recovery rooms, and a 27-bed Level III NICU. Staff must pass/fail an open-book exam during orientation with a 90% passing score. Candidates must work well with neonatal patients, possessing good communication and multi-tasking skills. Certifications required include BLS and NRP. The facility follows AWHONN/NANN guidelines with various levels of neonatal care.
