Job Summary
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) Location: unspecified. This role involves providing advanced nursing care to transplant, ESRD, and dialysis patients within a 28-bed unit. It requires flexibility, clinical expertise, and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in a dynamic environment.

Job Details

  • Shift Time: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN), BLS (Basic Life Support), CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certification, and at least 1 year of clinical experience in a progressive care setting or similar environment.
  • Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum 36 hours per week
  • Additional Information:
    • Support within the department includes CNA assistance, secretarial support during day shifts, charge nurse oversight, phlebotomy by nurses, IV/VAT team availability, resource nurses, rapid response teams, 24/7 hospitalist support, transplant teams, and central telemetry monitoring.
    • Technological equipment utilized includes EMR: Cerner, Plum ICU Medical, Omnicell, rolling vital monitors, telemetry systems, and specific unit equipment such as infusion pumps and dialysis management tools.
    • Orientation: 2 shifts of facility and unit onboarding provided (New Employee Orientation).
    • Unit culture promotes holiday celebrations and potlucks.
    • Scrub color: Galaxy Blue.
    • Parking: Free access with badge entry.
    • Additional skills required: use of Levo, Amio, Heparin, Cardine, Bumex, Lasix GTT, BIPAP, high-flow oxygen management, TPN, manual peritoneal dialysis (preferred), surgery prep, blood administration, PICC lines, JP drains, Hemovac, CBI.
    • The first to float to other units as needed, with approval from the manager for time off requests, and no on-call requirement.
