Job Summary
Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) RN Location unspecified. This position involves providing specialized post-operative care to pediatric and adult patients recovering from anesthesia. The role requires a minimum of three years of experience, including the ability to recover pediatric patients, with responsibilities encompassing patient monitoring, management of ventilated patients, and collaboration with surgical teams to ensure safe recovery.

Job Details

  • Required Qualifications: ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications; minimum of 3 years of relevant nursing experience; ability to recover pediatric patients; willing to second phase patients out of operating rooms; experience with EPIC electronic medical record; must be able to read cardiac strips; licensed to practice nursing in the state.
  • Schedule: Mix of 8 and 10-hour shifts, including shifts from 0730-4, 8-430, 830-5, 830-9pm, and 10-6:30pm on call; on-call maximum 1-2 nights per 6-week schedule; weekend call of 24 hours within each 6 weeks; holiday and additional call as needed.
  • Additional Information: The role involves floating to inpatient units as needed, assisting in pediatric patient recovery, and participating in unit-specific orientation. The unit typically maintains a RN to patient ratio of 1:2, with some exceptions for pediatric cases requiring 1:1 staffing. The environment is fast-paced, requiring teamwork, kindness, efficiency, and a helpful attitude. Scrubs will be provided for staff.
