Job Summary
Telemetry Nurse (RN) Location: unspecified. This position involves providing specialized nursing care in a telemetry unit, supporting patients with various diagnoses including COPD, sepsis, pneumonia, cancer, and other conditions requiring telemetry monitoring. The role offers an opportunity to contribute to patient recovery and health outcomes within a dynamic healthcare environment.
Job Details
- Position Description: The RN will be responsible for caring for patients with diverse diagnoses such as COPD, sepsis, pneumonia, UTI, AMS, pancreatitis, diverticulitis, all types of cancer, hospice, and non-cardiac related telemetry monitoring due to conditions like hyperkalemia, renal failure, and sepsis. Units are equipped with telemetry monitors, and RN must be proficient in reading strips and managing telemetry equipment.
- Required Qualifications: Valid RN license; BLS (American Heart Association); NIHSS certification; at least 2 years of nursing experience; Epic electronic medical record system experience; availability for 12-hour day shifts, with a minimum of 48 hours per week; experience in telemetry, trach, peg care, Foley catheter management, central lines, medication administration, patient assessments, care planning, patient teaching, oxygen management, IV therapy, and NGT management.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Meditech charting system and on a telemetry unit.
- Schedule: 12-hour day shifts with a minimum of 48 hours per week.
- Additional Information: Call outs are strongly discouraged. RN must pass the Basic Dysrhythmia (83%) exam before signing the contract, with three attempts allowed. The role involves float requirements, with the possibility of floating between two nearby campuses as needed. Self-scheduling and block scheduling are permitted.
