Job Summary
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) Located in a healthcare facility, this role involves delivering superior quality nursing care aligned with organizational values. The RN maintains a focus on patient safety, oversees care plans, and supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Job Details
- Certifications and Qualifications: BLS Certification and ACLS Certification required prior to first shift. Experience requirement: 0 years.
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Performs nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission, forming the basis for individualized care plans.
- Collaborates with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team to identify educational needs and goals.
- Provides timely and accurate documentation of assessment data, interventions, and patient responses in the medical records.
- Participates in the patient rehabilitation program on the assigned unit and is responsible for direct patient care utilizing the nursing process.
- Initiates discharge planning and patient teaching starting from the day of admission.
- Communicates changes in patient status effectively to support continuity of care.
- Delegates appropriately and supervises ancillary nursing personnel using problem solving techniques in decision making, organizing, and prioritizing.
- Ensures personal and environmental safety in accordance with hospital and nursing policies.
- Contributes to a positive, collaborative, and efficient work environment through team building activities and effective communication with management.
- Assumes charge responsibility following orientation as requested.
- Pursues ongoing professional development through continuing education and self-study.
- Performs additional duties as requested to support patient care and unit operations.
