Job Summary

Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse position in the healthcare organization. This role involves providing specialized nursing care for adult and geriatric patients with a wide variety of medical conditions, including stroke, heart failure, respiratory failure, and post-surgical monitoring. The position requires flexibility to float between departments and units within scope to meet facility needs, with a schedule primarily during day shifts on a 12-hour shift basis.

Job Details

• Certifications, Education Requirements, Degree Requirements, Location Requirements, and Years of Experience: BLS, NIHSS, ACLS preferred; 2 years of experience required; experience with electronic medical records (EPIC) preferred; minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience; experience in Progressive Care Units or similar settings is necessary.
• Schedule: Day shifts, 12-hour shifts, a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Additional Information:
  • Must be willing to work at least 2 Fridays, 2 Saturdays, and 2 Sundays within a 6-week period.
  • Flexibility to float within scope across departments, units, and facilities as needed.
  • Experience in medical-surgical, telemetry, cardiac telemetry, ER holding, neuro stepdown, orthopedic trauma, and respiratory management is preferred.
  • Must be willing to work established guaranteed hours of three shifts per 13 weeks, with required holiday shifts based on unit needs.
  • Valid medical licensing in good standing is required; pending licenses are accepted.
  • All certifications and required documentation must be submitted at least 2 Fridays before the start date, with orientation modules completed prior to beginning the assignment.
  • Must adhere to facility compliance and onboarding procedures, including completing EPIC EMR training modules before the start date.
