Description
Job Summary:
L&D (Labor and Delivery) Nurse Location Not Specified. This role involves providing specialized nursing care in the Labor and Delivery Department, supporting both antepartum and intrapartum patients. The position requires hands-on support in obstetric procedures and patient care, with a focus on high-acuity maternity care within a busy healthcare facility.
Job Details:
- Certifications: BLS, FHM, NRP
- Education/Degree Requirements: Relevant nursing license and certifications as specified
- Experience Requirement: 0 years required, with a preference for candidates with at least 3 years of experience in labor and delivery or related fields
- Location Requirements: Must be authorized to work pending license and will need to work within the specified geographic area.
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 48 hours per week.
- RTO Restrictions: Max of 7 days of RTO; all RTO must be finalized at the time of submission.
- Unit Details: Includes L&D and postpartum in the same space, with specific staffing ratios depending on patient acuity.
- Additional responsibilities include assisting with high-risk deliveries, sterile speculum exams, fetal monitoring, administer medications, and neonatal resuscitation.
- Specific procedures and equipment include use of fetal monitoring applications (PeriWatch, Phillips Avalon), intrauterine pressure catheters, and medication administration such as Pitocin and magnesium sulfate.
- The candidate must be able to work 2 on-call shifts per 6-week schedule period, with a required minimum of 2 Sunday night shifts/2 Friday day shifts during that period.
- Candidates should have experience with antepartum, labor delivery, fetal monitoring, and neonatal resuscitation, along with core obstetrical skills.
- Submittal requirements include compliance with EPIC training modules and documentation deadlines as specified.
