Job Summary
Endoscopy Lab Specialist, located at the healthcare provider's facility, specializing in endoscopic procedures within a busy GI department. This role involves supporting all phases of endoscopy procedures, including procedural sedation, patient recovery, and bedside interventions in the emergency room and intensive care unit. The position requires experienced registered nurses and technicians to ensure smooth operations in a fast-paced environment.
Job Details
- Position Description: The endoscopy department is one of the busiest within the organizations suites, performing approximately 2 procedures per day, making it the second busiest endoscopy unit in the region.
- Required Qualifications: Certified as an RN with BLS and ACLS, with at least 2 years of clinical experience in endoscopy or a similar setting. Experience with procedural sedation, bedside procedures, and familiarity with ERCP, EUS, PEG, OER Pro elite, and lite machines is required.
- Schedule: Days shift; 12-hour shifts; minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Additional Information: RNs and technicians must have call experience, with weekend and holiday rotation expectations. RNs typically respond within 30 minutes for emergency calls. Tech staff assist with all procedures except bronchs, manage equipment, and stock rooms. The orientation period is usually 2-3 days, depending on experience.
