Job Summary
Medical Surgical Floor Nurse - Location: unspecified. This position involves providing high-quality care for patients with diverse medical conditions on a rotating day schedule. The role supports a team-oriented environment focused on patient recovery and safety within an acute care setting.

Job Details

• Position Description: Responsible for delivering nursing care on a Medical Surgical unit caring for patients with conditions including congestive heart failure, hypertension, chest pain work-ups, COPD exacerbations, asthma, pneumonia, pancreatitis, bowel obstructions, gastrointestinal bleeding, and acute renal failure. Responsible for using Electronic Fetal Heart Monitoring (EFM) and managing titratable IV drips such as analgesics, anticoagulants, and antihypertensives.
• Required Qualifications: Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications. Minimum 2 years of relevant experience. Valid license to submit. Location flexibility within a 60-mile radius.
• Schedule: Days shift, 11.5 hours per shift, minimum of 34.5 hours per week.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale).
• Additional Information: Candidates should be able to read their own tele monitor strips and participate in self-scheduling and block scheduling. Expectation of at least six weekend shifts in a six-week schedule, with some floating within Zone 4 depending on department needs. Orientation will occur during the week of start date, with day shifts and specific dress code requirements.
