Job Summary
Surgical Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Nurse Location: Not Specified. This position involves providing specialized care for surgical patients within a critical care setting. The role requires delivering high-quality patient care while managing complex assessments, titrations, and interventions in a fast-paced ICU environment.
Job Details
- Position: Surgical Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Nurse
- Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Surgical
- Shift Schedule: 12-hour Days, 36 hours/week minimum, starting 10/26/2026 through 01/25/2027
- Qualifications: Valid active Illinois license or confirmation of application process, BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), 1 year of ICU experience preferred.
- Responsibilities: Provide care to post-surgical, trauma, and multi-system patients, including titration of drips such as pressors, sedation, paralytics, and insulin. Read and interpret tele monitor strips, manage ventilators and monitoring equipment, and collaborate with in-house intensivists and hospitalist teams.
- Additional Info: Staff may float to lower levels of care, treating 3 patients on a step-down unit or 5-6 in general medical environments. Orientation includes training with EPIC, shadowing, and preceptor support.
- Submission Requirements: Last four digits of SSN, active IL license status, and confirmation of the candidates understanding of the agencys policies and requirements.
