Job Summary
An Intensive Care Unit (ICU) registered nurse position is available in a healthcare facility within the organization. This role involves providing specialized care to critically ill adult patients with various medical diagnoses, including sepsis, respiratory issues, cardiac conditions, and post-op complications. The nurse will work on a night shift schedule, supporting a multi-acuity unit that manages ICU, progressive care, and step-down patients.

- Position Description:
This role requires the assessment and management of patients experiencing critical conditions such as sepsis, drug or alcohol withdrawal, respiratory failure, COVID-19, DKA, and heart rate or blood pressure abnormalities. The nurse will provide primary care to ICU, progressive care (PCU), and monitored step-down (MST) patients, including titrating drips like sedation, vasopressors, and insulin. The nurse will support ventilated patients using equipment such as vents, Bipap, and Cpap. - Required Qualifications:
Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications, at least 2 years of ICU experience, and ability to obtain a license to submit. - Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in higher acuity or larger facilities, strong skills in managing ventilated and critically ill patients, and proficiency in reading 12-lead EKGs. - Schedule:
Nights, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. - Additional Information:
The position involves unit-specific orientation, hospital orientation, and participating in holiday and weekend rotations. RNs may float to other units including pediatric, emergency, or West Campus ICU and PCU to maintain competency. Full PPE and support equipment are provided, with remote monitoring tech support on site.
