Job Summary
Pediatric Float Nurse Location: unspecified. This role involves providing specialized pediatric nursing care within a designated women and children's unit. The position offers coverage for patients aged 0-17 years with a focus on delivering safe, quality care in a dynamic environment.

Job Details

  • Certifications, Education Requirements, Degree Requirements, Location Requirements, and Years of Experience: BLS and PALS certification are required; a minimum of 2 years of inpatient Pediatric experience is necessary.
  • Schedule: Days shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required.
  • Responsibilities include providing care to patients in a women & children's unit, with potential float to NICU to support Eat, Sleep, Console or feeder/grower assignments, depending on competence and comfort level.
  • The unit accommodates patients from birth to 17 years old, including those requiring respiratory support, general surgery, limited orthopedics, diabetics, general medical diagnoses, and outpatient infusions.
  • Care involves patient assignments typically 3-4:1 depending on acuity, with core staffing of 6 RNs and 2 LNAs per shift.
  • Medical oversight is provided by Pediatric Hospitalists, who also oversee the Emergency Department.
  • Clinical documentation is completed via EPIC electronic medical records, and staff utilize hospital-issued scrubs.
  • Submission requirements include license verification, professional resume, references checklist, skills checklist, and candidate submission coversheet.
