Job Summary
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse located in the high acuity float pool within a general healthcare facility. This position involves providing specialized critical care to patients with complex medical conditions, utilizing advanced skills and certifications to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Job Details
- Position Description: Critical Care Nurse in a high acuity float pool unit caring for Medical, Surgical, Neuro, and Cardiac patients with patient ratios of 1-2 depending on acuity, occasionally up to 1-3.
- Required Qualifications: Valid WA or Compact State License, BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale), Minimum 2 years ICU experience, Epic electronic medical record experience, prior floating experience including shifts across different units or facilities.
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with devices such as CRRT, Impella, ECMO, IABP, and familiarity with patient management involving titratable drips including Epi, Norepi, Dobutamine, and others.
- Additional Information: Orientation includes General Hospital Orientation, Myles Modules, Cerner Validation class, and on-unit orientation focusing on ICU protocols. Staff is expected to participate in self-scheduling, with three weekend shifts per schedule and holiday coverage required.
