Job Summary:
The ORT (Surgical Technician/Operating Room Technician) position is based in the specialty of surgical services within a healthcare facility. This role involves supporting the surgical team during various procedures, with responsibilities including preparation, sterilization, and assisting with intraoperative tasks. The position requires a dedicated professional committed to maintaining high standards of patient care and surgical precision.

Job Details:

• Position Description: Supporting surgical cases in a busy main operating room with Level 3 trauma designation. Cases include general surgery, bowel resection, gynecology, urology, TURP, cystoscopy, lithotripsy, dental, and occasional plastics and bariatrics. No neuro cases are involved. Inpatient and outpatient cases are performed, with 35-40% being add-on surgeries.
• Required Qualifications: BLS Certification; WA state license; minimum of 2 years of experience as a surgical technologist.
• Schedule: Monday through Friday with shifts varying from 8 to 12 hours, starting at 7:15 AM, with 40 hours per week minimum. Call responsibilities include 5-6 call days per week starting at 9 PM with response time of 30 minutes. Call shifts include 12-hour days and nights, including weekends and holidays rotations.
• Additional Information: Scrubbing is required. Floating to other OR areas such as CVOR or vascular cases may be necessary. Orientation lasts 1 week. Transportation and housing arrangements can be challenging due to location constraints.
• Certification Requirements: BLS Certification required.
• Experience Requirement: 2 years of surgical tech experience required.
