Job Summary
A Surgical Technician/Operating Room Technician position in the ORT (Surgical Technician/Operating Room Technician) specialty is available in an acute care setting within the organization. This role involves supporting surgical procedures in a Level 1 Trauma care environment, with responsibilities including preparation of operating rooms, assisting surgical teams, and maintaining patient safety standards. The position is scheduled for day shifts, primarily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., with a focus on trauma, neuro/spine, robotics, plastics, ENT, urology, and other specialized cases.

Job Details

  • Position: Surgical Technician/Operating Room Technician in the ORT (Surgical Technician/Operating Room Technician) specialty
  • Location: Within 60 miles of the specified area (exact facility details not provided)
  • Schedule: Day shifts, mostly self-scheduled, 12-hour shifts from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Certifications, Education, and Experience: CST (Certified Surgical Technologist), BLS (Basic Life Support) (AHA), minimum of 2 years of experience in surgical settings, license to submit, and current certification credentials
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with robotics, trauma, neuro/spine, plastics, ENT, urology, LV1 trauma, and familiarity with EPIC charting system
  • Additional Job Details:
    • Unit notes include a profile review, interview with unit manager, and in-state orientation during the week of start date
    • Caseload averages 37 cases per day, including common cases such as ortho, trauma, robotics, neuro/spine, plastics, ENT, and urology
    • No floating outside the facility; floating within Zone 3 only if needed
    • Scrub color/dress code: Blue surgical scrubs provided
    • Unit-specific orientation will be 2 days, with hospital cancellation policies allowing up to 4 shifts cancellation per 13 weeks
    • Charting is done via EPIC system
    • Shift and scheduling may include weekend, holiday, and call requirements with a 2-hour call response time
