Job Summary
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) Weekday Days 11/09/2026 to 02/08/2027. This role involves providing specialized nursing care to post-operative cardiothoracic surgery patients immediately after surgery and during transfer from the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit. The position requires handling complex patient conditions and utilizing advanced clinical skills to support patient recovery and safety.

Job Details

Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS.
Education Requirements: Must have at least 2 years of experience in a related setting with a valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse.
Experience: 2 years of clinical experience in a Progressive Care Unit or similar environment.
Location Requirements: No specific geographic restrictions listed.
Schedule: Dayshift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
Additional information: The unit is a 26-bed thoracic and vascular surgery Post-operative unit that cares for patients with multiple co-morbidities such as advanced heart failure, renal disease, and diabetes. Responsibilities include managing multiple IV drips, blood product administration, wound care, telemetry monitoring, central line and PICC line care, and complex post-surgical patient management. Floating between departments, units, and facilities may be required to meet operational needs.
Submission Requirements: Candidates must be able to complete compliance documentation and modules prior to start date, including EPIC EMR training modules.
Open to first-time travelers and flexible to accommodate block scheduling requests, with on-call not required.
