Medical Surgical with Telemetry RN Portland, ME
This position involves providing specialized nursing care within a Medical Telemetry unit at a healthcare facility. The role requires managing patients with acute and chronic medical conditions, including respiratory issues, sepsis, DKA, altered mental status, and respiratory failure, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care.

Job Details

  • Position: Registered Nurse (RN) Medical Telemetry
  • Location: Portland, ME
  • Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum 36 hours per week
  • Schedule: Nights
  • Required Qualifications: Valid RN license, BLS certification, ventilator experience for IMC RN, experience with tracheostomies, telemetry strip interpretation, 1-2 years of clinical experience, and minimum 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with respiratory patients, sepsis, and other acute medical conditions, teamwork, flexibility, good communication skills, patient-centered approach.
  • Responsibilities include providing direct patient care, managing ventilated patients, interpreting telemetry strips, and collaborating with healthcare team members.
  • Additional Information: IMC RNs may float within ICU levels of care; Med/Surg RNs may float to other med/surg units based on needs and skill level. The unit uses equipment such as ventilators, BiPaP, CPAP, epidural pumps, IV pumps, PCA pumps, VAC dressings, and tracheostomy care. EMR documentation is through Epic.
