Job Summary
Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Nurse in the area. This role involves providing professional nursing care to patients within the Post Anesthesia Care Unit, supporting medical staff and ensuring high standards of patient safety and comfort. The position requires collaboration with the healthcare team and adherence to current practice standards to promote optimal patient outcomes.

Job Details

  • Position Description: Supports and promotes the mission and values of the healthcare organization. Renders professional nursing care within the Post Anesthesia Care Unit, in support of medical care as directed by medical staff and hospital policies. Ensures completion of all unit-specific competencies for critically ill patients. Engages in quality improvement processes and maintains comprehensive clinical documentation and care plans for all assigned patients. Communicates patient information appropriately for continuity of care and addresses patient safety issues diligently. Demonstrates knowledge of current standards (ANA, NH Nurse Practice Act, Specialty standards).
  • Schedule: Day shift, 8 hours per shift, minimum of 40 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Current New Hampshire Registered Nurse license, BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), and 0+ years of experience in a similar acute care setting.
  • Preferred Qualifications: NHISS certification, CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) training, and prior experience in critical care or PACU.
  • Additional Information: Up to 16 hours of orientation are unpaid. Position may be canceled for up to 3 shifts within the 13-week contract period.
  • Responsibilities: Including but not limited to patient assessment, monitoring, administration of procedural sedation, and ensuring safety protocols are followed. The RN must demonstrate contraindications and reversal procedures for IV adenosine infusion.
