Job Summary
Preoperative Registered Nurse (RN) PRE OPERATIVE Madison, WI. This position involves providing specialized preoperative care to adult patients in a Magnet-designated hospital, ranked Wisconsins #1 hospital. The role requires supporting patients through various pre-surgical assessments, education, and preparation as part of the perioperative team.
Job Details
- Location: Madison, WI
- Schedule: Days shifts, Monday through Friday, 8-hour shifts, with start times rotating between 6:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Weekly minimum of 40 hours.
- Required Qualifications: Certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS); minimum of 2 years of recent inpatient acute care experience in the specialty; valid in Wisconsin; experience with adult patient care, charting systems (Epic), and preoperative nursing procedures.
- Responsibilities include assessing and managing patients preoperative needs, obtaining operative and procedural consents, administering medications, and providing patient education.
- Certification and testing requirements include a telemetry exam with a strict pass/fail criterion, including adult and pediatric components, with up to three attempts permitted for passing.
- Floating: Float rotation may be required.
- Submission requirements: Must pass pre-employment testing and provide verification of required certifications.
