Job Summary
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) Nights Location: [Location]
This role involves providing high-quality patient care in a 16-bed stepdown unit specializing in oncology, with patients ranging from moderate to high acuity levels including chemotherapy, BMT overflow, and active radiation treatments. The RN will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver compassionate care tailored to each patients needs.

Job Details

  • Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Valid BLS certification, NIHSS certification, at least 2 years of nursing experience including stepdown, telemetry, or higher level of care; experience in chemo, ports, PCA, epidural pump, electrolyte replacement, comfort measures, palliative care, lipids, and TPN is preferred.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Chemo certification
  • Responsibilities:
    • Providing care for patients receiving chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and those with complex medical needs.
    • Utilizing EMR systems, electronic fetal heart monitoring, infusion pumps, and other specialized equipment.
    • Collaborating with resource teams including sepsis, rapid response, vascular access, and hospitalist services.
    • Participating in unit orientation and float to mixed acuity units as needed.
  • Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Submission Requirements: Candidates must present current certifications and license valid for practice in the state, along with a minimum of two years' relevant clinical experience.
  • Additional Information:
    • NEO: 24 hours (3 days) of orientation with a 12-hour shift at the end of the first week and the start of the second week.
    • Unit culture emphasizes collaboration, support, and exceptional patient care.
    • Scrub color is Galaxy Blue; free onsite parking with badge access.
