Job Summary
Operating Room (OR) Nurse Specialist Location unspecified. This position involves providing surgical nursing care within a busy OR environment, supporting general, gynecology, and urology surgical procedures. The role requires adapting to various surgical teams and maintaining compliance with hospital policies and protocols.
Job Details
- Certifications: BLS (AHA); Licensure: Active Illinois RN license or confirmed application status; Education: Registered Nurse (RN) degree; Location: Illinois; Experience: 2 years of experience in General, Gynecology, and Urology surgical nursing, including EPIC electronic medical records system familiarity.
- Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Active Illinois RN license or confirmed application, BLS certification, 2 years of relevant surgical experience, experience with general surgery, urology, gynecology, and ENT procedures, familiarity with EPIC EMR.
- Additional Information: Must have experience scrubbing in the operating room, working with surgical technologists, and managing cases such as laparoscopic cholesystectomy, appendectomy, cystoscopy, robotic surgeries, hysterectomies, vascular, ENT, and urology procedures. Frequently required to work with hospital-provided scrubs and adhere to OR dress code. Call shift required once per week with a response time of 30 minutes; floating to other surgery teams or SPD if qualified may be required.
- Submission instructions include providing the last four digits of SSN, confirmation of active Illinois RN license, and understanding of how to produce a negative drug screen, as part of the application process.
