Job Summary
The organization is seeking a Surgical Technician (ORT) for a position in the Operating Room in Charlotte, North Carolina. This role involves supporting a diverse range of surgical procedures across multiple specialties, including orthopedic, cardiothoracic, vascular, urology, and gynecology, among others. The Surgical Technician will assist in maintaining efficient surgical workflows and patient safety throughout their shift.

Job Details

• Position Description: Surgical Technician (ORT) The role involves preparing operating rooms, supporting surgical teams during procedures, and ensuring adherence to safety standards.
• Required Qualifications: BLS certification, completion of an accredited Surgical Technician (education) program, national certification preferred, and valid Driver's License. No specific experience requirement; the minimum experience specified is 0 years.
• Schedule: Nights shift, 10 hours per shift, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with orthopedic, cardiovascular (CABG, TAVR), vascular, thoracic, robotic, GYN, colon, breast, spine, podiatry, and plastic surgery cases; strong and recent experience with various surgical cases especially within CVOR.
• Additional Information:
  • Support within the department includes OR assistant, receptionist/HUC, charge nurse, anesthesia/CRNA support.
  • Technology/Equipment used includes EPIC electronic medical record, Alaris infusion pumps, Omnicell medication dispensers, and Phillips monitors.
  • Orientation will be conducted over one week for the Main Operating Room and two weeks for the CVOR, consisting of five 8-hour shifts.
  • Scheduling may include weekend rotations, call with a 30-minute response, and holiday shifts.
  • Support staff include OR assistants, anesthesia, and support within the department to ensure smooth operations.
  • Scrub color is provided, and parking is free.
