Job Summary:
Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory (Cath Lab) Nurse in Alabama. This position involves coordinating total nursing care for patients undergoing invasive and non-invasive diagnostic and therapeutic cardiac procedures. The role requires working collaboratively within a team to maintain professional nursing standards and providing patient and family education.
Job Details:
- Education Required: Associate degree in nursing
- Certifications Required: American Heart Association Basic Life Support, NIH Stroke Scale or Red Cross Certification, Licenses Required: Registered Nurse license in the state of Alabama or a Compact license (No temporary licenses accepted)
- Experience Required: 2 years, with consideration given to 18 months of experience working under the highest level of professional license, including at least 1 year of recent experience in the specialty
- Schedule: Days shift, 4 x 10-hour shifts per week, with weekend on-call every 6 weeks, including some weekdays; must be able to respond within 20 minutes of the call-out
- Position involves holidays as required by the healthcare provider and takes 3-11 and/or 11-7 shifts
- The role includes participating in inpatient and family teaching, working cooperatively with team members, and maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in a clinical setting
- Must be willing to float to other units or hospitals as needed
