Job Summary
ICU Registered Nurse (RN) Intensive Care Unit Location unspecified. This position involves providing specialized critical care in a high-volume teaching healthcare facility. The role includes floating within the ICU and adjacent units, managing complex patient conditions, and performing advanced procedures.
Job Details
- Position Description: Assignment for 16-26 weeks. This role requires experience with multi-system diseases, CRRT, IAPB, ECMO, COVID-19, vents, and multiple titrating drips. The RN must be flexible with scheduling, able to float to units outside of their POD, and work two out of four major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, and New Years Day.
- Required Qualifications: Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS), American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications; prior travel experience; at least 2 years of ICU RN experience; large (500+ bed) teaching facility experience; recent Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience from within the past 2 years; ability to start IVs, maintain multiple titrating drips, and manage critical vent care; minimum of 1 year of experience; flexible schedule including every other weekend.
- Schedule: Day shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, Monday to Sunday with bi-weekly orientations on Monday.
- Additional Information: Must have reliable transportation; vehicles should have all-season or snow tires from November to April; all employment gaps over 90 days must be explained; complete work history including bed count, EMR, and facility type required for submission; IVs to OFFER.
- Preferred Qualifications: CCRN certification; experience with hemodynamic devices and patient populations such as post-cardiac surgery, vascular, trauma (Level 1 trauma), general surgery, neurosurgery, overflow MICU.
