Job Details

• Position Type: Operating Room (OR) Specialist Open Heart
• Location: Wausau
• Certifications: BLS; CST license required, NBSTSA or NCCT accepted; AHA or ARC certifications preferred
• Education Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate Degree or Certificate preferred
• Experience: 2+ years of cardiovascular operating room experience required; prior travel experience preferred
• Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours shifts, guaranteed 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with weekend and holiday rotation every third weekend.
• Additional Responsibilities: Efficiently set up operative suites, prepare case carts, scrub surgical cases across various specialties, and assist with room turnovers. Flexibility and strong work ethic needed; may be required to float to all Central Aspirus locations if necessary.
• Note: GSA hours are not guaranteed during orientation; travelers may be scheduled for low census hours, including on-call. Must be capable of responding within 30 minutes for emergency cases.
• on Call/Call-Back: One night per week, one weekend per month, and one backup per week; may be called back with a minimum of 2 hours notice.
• Special Requirements: Cardiac/Thoracic procedures experience, thoracic robot experience, motivated during downtime to assist with additional tasks. Candidate must be resilient, adaptable to change, and capable of managing multiple procedures efficiently.
• Shift Notes: Shift hours from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM.
