Job Summary
Endoscopy Laboratory Nurse Endoscopy Lab San Luis Obispo, CA. This role involves working with Bronchoscopy, Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS), and Endobronchial Ultrasound (EBUS) procedures. The nurse monitors patients during procedures, manages post-sedation recovery, and provides clear follow-up instructions. The position requires knowledge of diagnostic measures, infection control, and equipment handling in a healthcare facility setting.
Job Details
- Education and Work Experience: High School Education or GED is required. An Associate Degree (A.A. or A.S.) is also required. A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is preferred. One year of GI experience is required. Licenses and certifications include current RN license in the state of practice, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from an approved vendor.
- Schedule: Rotating shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Additional Information: Responsible for ensuring all equipment for GI procedures is properly set up. Must demonstrate competency in endoscope manipulation and knowledge of procedure complications. Assist physicians and advanced providers during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Follow hospital policies for sedation, including pre- and post-assessment. Review medical history, interpret diagnostic data such as ECG rhythms, and manage care during emergencies. Recognize symptoms of distress, initiate multidisciplinary care plans, and participate in safety and quality checks. Must comply with facility vaccination policies.
