Job Summary
The organization is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) specialized in Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) to work in a fast-paced, academic medical environment in Madison, WI. The role involves providing comprehensive nursing care to acutely ill adult patients, including those with complex medical diagnoses and hemodynamic instability, on a 29-bed unit. The position offers an opportunity to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team while delivering high-quality patient care.

Job Details

• Position Description: Registered Nurse (RN) in the Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU), working 12-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, with every other weekend and some holidays required, supporting thoracic surgery and other specialized care.
• Required Qualifications: WI Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact RN license, BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), 2+ years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in a trauma or acute care environment, experience with vent and transplant patients, telemetry proficiency, and knowledge of advanced cardiac rhythms.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in an academic Level I or II trauma center, vent and transplant experience, proficiency in complex procedures such as arterial line management, chest tube care, and central line management.
• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, minimum 48 hours per week, starting 11/09/2026 and ending 02/08/2027.
• Additional Information: Traveler must pass telemetry test prior to starting; passing scores include identifying lethal rhythms and no incorrect answers on specific questions. A maximum of three attempts may be made to pass the test, with required course submission if three attempts are unsuccessful.
• Submittal Details: Candidates must meet telemetered rhythm recognition criteria and submit all required certifications and proofs of experience as requested.
