Job Summary
Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) Registered Nurse (RN) Location not specified. This position involves providing specialized nursing care in a progressive care setting within a facility supporting cardiothoracic surgery, vascular, urology, and cardiology units. The role requires flexibility with scheduling and provides an opportunity to support a variety of medical specialties.

Job Details

Position Description: Assignment for 16-26 weeks in a float pool within central unit specialties. Must be flexible with scheduling, including every other weekend and unit-specific adjustments, supporting units such as cardiothoracic, hematology, oncology, orthopedics, neurology, GYN, and others.
Certifications and Education Requirements: AHA Basic Life Support (BLS), AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) NIHSS must be completed prior to start; minimum of 2 years of clinical experience; experience in large trauma Level I, teaching facility; experience in cardiology including post-angiography, stent procedures, and structural heart; familiarity with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems, specifically EPIC from the past 2 years.
Schedule: Rotating Day/Night shifts, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
Additional Requirements: Must have reliable transportation; no block scheduling; bi-weekly orientations on Mondays; all employment gaps over 90 days must be explained; complete work history required.
Responsibilities: Support various specialty areas in a progressive care environment, providing patient-centered nursing care with adherence to clinical standards and protocols.
