Job Summary
Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) Location Not Specified. This role involves performing instrument processing and decontamination to support surgical services. The position requires independent work to disinfect, assemble, and maintain surgical equipment, adhering to all applicable safety and regulatory standards.

Job Details

• Certifications: Sterile Processing Certification, valid CA State License (uploaded Nursys within the last 2 weeks)
• Education Requirements: High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
• Experience Requirement: 2 years of relevant experience
• Schedule: Night shift, 8 hours per shift, minimum 40 hours per week
• Additional Information:
  • Competently performs standardized instrument processing and decontamination to prevent the spread of infection, illness or disease.
  • Works independently, exercising sound judgment to support the functionality of the department by disinfecting and distributing supplies, performing equipment maintenance, testing, and setup as needed.
  • Integrates education and technical competence to execute safe and precise sterilization procedures.
  • Adheres to all local, state, and federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures to ensure safety and deliver optimal patient care.
  • Participates in inventory control, including collecting, cleaning, and redistributing supplies, as well as ordering new supplies as needed.
  • Maintains a clean, neat, and safe working environment, including cleaning and disinfecting equipment after each procedure.
  • Inspects and calibrates equipment to ensure proper operation, recording quality control results and reporting malfunctions.
  • Maintains compliance with all applicable department standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Performs quality work and retains certification through mandated continuing education.
