Job Summary
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Nurse - Location: Summit Medical Center. This role involves providing specialized care on a 34-bed and 25-bed PCU, with patient ratios ranging from 1:4 to 1:6 depending on shift. The position offers an opportunity to work within a team-focused environment that emphasizes excellent patient care and teamwork on a 12-hour day shift schedule.

Job Details

• Position Description: Provides patient care in a PCU setting with a focus on post-cardiac, stroke, and dialysis patients. Responsibilities include managing various oxygen delivery systems, performing procedures such as thoracentesis, paracentesis, chest tube insertions, and NG/dobhoff tube placements.
• Required Qualifications: BLS, ACLS certifications; RN license; experience with bipaps, high flow oxygen, stroke and post-cardiac cath care; and ability to perform procedures on the unit.
• Schedule: Days shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum 36 hours per week.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with peritoneal dialysis, wound vacs, tube feedings, and NG/dobhoff tubes.
• Additional Information: The unit practices self-scheduling for a four-week cycle, requires working every other weekend, and utilizes techs to assist care. Familiarity with Meditech documentation system is preferred. Most travelers extend after initial assignment, fostering a supportive and collaborative environment.
• Submission Requirements: Candidates must be able to provide proof of current BLS and ACLS certifications at the time of submission.
