Description
Job Summary
Labor and Delivery Department Nashville, Tennessee. The position supports laboring patients, newborns immediately following delivery, and cesarean-section patients during a night shift assignment. Responsibilities include labor and delivery care, operative support, and participation in scheduled weekend and call coverage.
Job Details
- Required Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience; Association of Womens Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) Intermediate certification or Certified Electronic Fetal Monitoring (CEFM); Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); Basic Life Support (BLS); Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
- Schedule: Night shifts consisting of 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week; three weekend shifts and one call shift required.
- Responsibilities: Care for laboring patients, provide care to newborns immediately following delivery, and circulate and recover cesarean-section patients. Procedures may include vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, dilation and curettage, cerclage, epidural anesthesia, and tubal ligation.
- Float: Float rotation may be required.
