OR (Operating Room) Surgical Technician/Operating Room Technician Wausau, WI
This position involves providing specialized technical support in the operating room for cardiothoracic surgeries, including thoracic robot procedures. The role requires efficiency in setting up operative suites, ensuring availability of supplies, and scrubbing surgical cases across various specialties. Job Details

Position: Surgical Technician/Operating Room Technician, OR Specialty Wausau, WI
Shift Schedule: Rotating, 8-hour variable shifts with a minimum of 40 hours per week
Start Date: 11/02/2026
End Date: 01/30/2027
Certifications: BLS, CST license REQUIRED; NBSTSA or NCCT accepted (AHA or ARC certifications required)
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate Degree or Certificate preferred
Experience: 2+ years of Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) experience REQUIRED; prior travel experience is necessary, with a minimum of 2 years in similar settings
Required Skills: Cardiac/Thoracic surgery experience, thoracic robot experience, adept at setup and turnover of operative rooms, capable of performing downtime tasks such as pulling case carts and cleaning
Float: Float rotation may be required.
Operational Requirements: Ability to respond within 30 minutes for cases, availability for call-back (minimum 2 hours), and participation in holiday and weekend rotations every third weekend
Additional information: The facility uses Epic charting system, and the candidate must be willing to work during flu season with adherence to vaccination policies.
