Job Summary
ICU Float Nursing Position Location: CA. This ICU float position requires experienced nursing professionals to provide care across multiple ICU units at various healthcare facilities within the organization. The role involves delivering high-quality patient care while floating between designated units, including ICU, CCU, and stepdown units, with a focus on neuro and cardiac patient populations.

Job Details

• Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours each, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS certifications; minimum of 2 years of ICU experience; California nursing license; ability to float to different units including ICU, CCU, and stepdown; prior travel experience preferred.
• Responsibilities include managing ventilated patients, administering drips such as vaso, levophed, norepinephrine, and dopamine, monitoring via Phillips telemetry, and collaborating with hospitalist or intensivist teams.
• Candidates must be comfortable with electronic health record systems, specifically Cerner, and have experience with neuro and cardiac patient care preferred but not mandatory.
• Must have at least 3 years of ICU experience if specializing in neuro or cardiac areas.
• Specific orientation includes three shifts across various units to ensure comprehensive unit acclimation.
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Additional information includes the need for adaptability to high-acuity patients, involving neuro surgeries, post-caths, and open-heart procedures, with increased cardiac patient load expected in September.
