The role requires a focused, detail-oriented RN capable of managing critically ill patients, interpreting complex data, and collaborating effectively with a healthcare team.

Job Details

• Position Description: Provide individualized nursing care for critically ill patients, including adolescent to geriatric populations. Utilize strong critical thinking skills to analyze data and respond to changing patient conditions. Perform assessments, interpret hemodynamic monitoring results, and anticipate complications. Use technology to enhance patient care; collaborate with physicians and healthcare staff; delegate and supervise unlicensed personnel as needed. May supervise students in the Critical Care Unit.
• Required Qualifications: SD RN or multistate compact RN License, BLS & ACLS certifications, minimum of 2 years of ICU experience, and the ability to work a rotating 12-hour shift with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Preferred Qualifications: CCRN and/or TNCC certifications.
• Schedule: Rotating shifts including days, nights, or straight nights; 12-hour shifts from 0700-1930 or 1900-0730; every other weekend and a holiday rotation.
• Additional Information: The unit consists of 8 private rooms with a nurse to patient ratio of 1:1 or 1:2 for critical patients, with overflow patients managed at a ratio of 1:4 in Med/Surg overflow scenarios. Two days of hospital orientation plus 1-2 days of unit-specific training are required, based on experience.
