Job Summary
Operating Room Nurse - Location not specified. This position involves providing specialized nursing care in the operating room for adult and pediatric patients undergoing various types of surgeries, including general, gynecological, oncology, breast, plastics, orthopedics, and robotic procedures. The role requires independently planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care according to established standards, with responsibilities extending to teaching, leadership, and participation in quality improvement activities.

Job Details

• Position Description: RN in the Operating Room, responsible for direct patient care, documentation, medication administration, and critical thinking. Serves as a preceptor for new staff and participates in unit activities, with minimal supervision.
• Certifications and Qualifications: Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the State of Florida. One year of recent operating room experience is required. BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association are required. PALS preferred.
• Schedule: Nights shift (approximately 12 hours) on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Shift hours are from 1845 to 0715. Call is required: 10 or 12-hour shifts, dispersed among staff, with responders expected within 30 minutes.
• Additional Information: Circulating experience required; scrub experience preferred. Must utilize electronic medical records and demonstrate knowledge of medication dosages and current policies. EPIC healthcare software experience is mandatory, with an assessment required on the first day of assignment.
