Job Summary

Registered Nurse, Medical Surgical Floor, Libertyville, IL. This position provides nursing care to medical-surgical patients, including oncology, general surgery, medical, and orthopedic/trauma populations. The role supports safe patient care through clinical assessment, treatment, telemetry monitoring, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team.

Job Details

• Required Qualifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications; competency with chest tubes and postoperative dressings; orthopedic and trauma experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification and electrocardiogram (EKG) experience.
• Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Additional Information: Typical nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:5, with 1:6 possible. Patient populations include oncology, general surgery, medical, and orthopedic/trauma cases. The role includes participation in weekend rotation every other weekend and rotating holiday coverage. Clinical support includes phlebotomy, respiratory therapy, hospitalist coverage, intravenous therapy support, centralized telemetry monitoring, and charge nurse availability. Unit orientation includes at least one shift to learn workflow.
